Great memories

New Zealand Classic Car - - Readers’ Writes -

Great to read the article on the ‘Blue Brick’ in the February issue. I and my family have many great memories of this little car, as I was privileged to race this car for almost 20 years from the early 1980s for Bruce Sutcliffe.

It is an amazing car to drive, very torquey and willing to rev.

It got the nickname ‘Blue Brick’ as the original diff ratio was quite low, which limited the top speed, and, after it was raised, the car was transformed, and we surprised many other competitors with the performance of the car.

It has been great to follow the car through its ownership, and it is in good hands with Kelvin.

Graham Main (subscriber since Issue No. 2) The Blue Brick looks to be Kelvin’s pride and joy, Graham. It’s great to see these rare machines preserved for future generations to enjoy. AFW
