Driven by Richard Burns, alongside co-driver Robert Reid, this Peugeot 205 GTI was the deciding factor for Burns to join the Peugeot Challenge 1990. As a result, he got his first taste of a World Rally Championship event in Great Britain as a prize for winning the Peugeot Challenge that year. Burns would then meet Reid in 1991, bringing him onboard as co-driver, a position he would fill for the following 12 years. This particular model replicates the 205 at the Kayel Graphics National Rally, Wales, on July 6, 1991, although he would receive a DNF and finish in mid-pack placings in subsequent races. Perhaps though, it was his experiences in the 205 that would lead him to return to the Peugeot franchise after winning the 2001 World Rally Championship and helping it to claim the world manufacturers’ title in 2002.
