Porsche 911 GT3 goes 12s faster on its Nürburgring record

New Zealand Classic Car - - Feature -

S ome consider Nürburgring records to be the absolute gold standard of testing, while others don’t rate them at all, but regardless of what you think, a car which goes 12 seconds faster than its outgoing model is nothing to spit at. And that’s exactly what Porsche has achieved with its new Porsche 911 GT3. Clocking in at seven minutes 12.7 seconds, it’s now among the fastest to ever run the famous German track, and represents a performance improvement for a car that weighs roughly the same as the previous version, while making marginally more power. Significant credit goes to the aero changes which have obviously made a big difference.
