2017 Alpine Classic
November 4 and 5
This event is one of the most noteworthy and enduring tarmac navigation rally events on the Australian motor sport calendar. Being a navigation rally for a crew of two or more people per car, this event offers a weekend of valuefor-money classic car motoring experience, among a field of up to 80 vehicles. Organized by the Classic Rally Club as part of its annual event series, the Alpine Classic is an event that is open to all types of cars (although classic cars are preferred), and crews who want to savour the navigation style of rallying on public roads as it was back in the 1950s and ’60s. The event will start and end in Yass, and overnight on Saturday in Tumut. The entry fee for a crew of two, including all maps, event instructions, Saturday-night accommodation, breakfast and lunch both days, and a deluxe Saturday dinner, is only $500 — probably the best value per minute motor sport weekend you can find anywhere.
