The Mitsubishi Triton range has grown from 11 to 14 models, with more automatic and high-specification options to meet customer demand. Single cab models are now automatic, while new club cab chassis automatic and manual club cab wellside models have been added. Two new range-topping 2WD and 4WD VRX models up the stakes with a range of premium new features, including: leather seats; heated front seats with power controls on the driver’s side; Mitsubishi Smart Phone Link display audio with Apple Carplay and Android Auto; leather-wrapped four-spoke steering wheel; premium instrument metre; new dark pewter chrome grille and headlights; and an integrated sidestep. On the 4WD VRX, differential lock adds extra grit to Triton’s offroad capability, which is already proven by the tried and trusted Mitsubishi Super Select II 4WD system. “Our customers’ needs are changing; they now want luxury car features and an easy-to-drive automatic transmission, as well as the tough-as-nails dependability of a utility vehicle. New Triton VRX offers all of that with more features than ever before seen in a Triton,” said head of sales and marketing strategy Daniel Cook. “With a remarkable $39,990 introductory price for the 2WD VRX, the 2017 Triton is sure to be New Zealand’s best value sports ute – and yes, that does include GST!” The entire 2017 Triton range receives numerous upgrades. 4WD GLX customers will now benefit from the addition of all-terrain tyres, plus new grilles and headlights. To fur ther advance Triton’s f ive-star safety rating, all models are equipped with daytime-running lights for maximum on-road visibility. All models also feature a six-inch or seven-inch touch screen with reversing camera (cab chassis models have an accessory camera option available). “Safety is a priority for businesses and private customers, which is why we continue to improve on our 5-star rating by adding more safety features throughout the range. “The new 2017 Triton is our best yet and is sure to fur ther grow Triton’s reputation for reliability, fuel economy, driving performance and exceptional value for money.” Every Triton is backed by New Zealand’s best new vehicle warranty – the 10/5 Mitsubishi Diamond Advantage; proof of just how reliable they are.
