IT’S THAT TIME OF YEAR AGAIN …
Well, an entire year seems to have flown by in a blink of an eye, and here we are again at the very beginning of the next chapter in our Sigma D-Photo Amateur Photographer of the Year competition — the 2017 edition! It’s always an overwhelming and thrilling time of the year, when we get to see the pure talent and skill from photographers from the depths and breadths of our nation come flooding into our inbox. The varied styles and techniques used to capture potentially award-winning shots are inspiring — and it’s great to see photographers thinking out of the box when it comes to a category. We expect to see a lot of creativity and talent this year, as usual.
We’re excited to be able to confirm, and welcome back, this year’s naming-rights sponsor — Sigma — and we’ve got a huge selection of categories for you to get amongst! This year’s categories will be Aerial, Creative, Junior, Landscape, Macro, Monochrome, Nature, People, and Travel. With plenty of genres available, no matter your preferred style of photography, there will be something for you to enter your images into.
It all kicks off on March 20 — so, if you’ve already got images you’ve been hoarding, lying in wait to be entered into this year’s competition, head on over to apoty.dphoto.co.nz and enter into the categories that interest you.
Entries will be open until 5pm, June 23, but don’t leave it until then — get your entries in now, and start gathering votes to be in with the chance of winning the Reader’s Choice award! We’ll have more information on prizes, judges, and plenty more as the competition progresses, so make sure you keep an eye on the 2017 Sigma D-Photo Amateur Photographer of the Year website to be kept in the loop!
