Cinematic brilliance

New Zealand D-Photo - - BUYERS GUIDE | LENSES -

The Fujinon MKX18–55mm and 50–135mm lenses are a welcome addition to the range of cinema lenses currently available on the market. The lenses are compact and lightweight, yet their performance is akin to that of much larger lenses, and, between them, they cover 18–135mm, an extremely useful range for video production. As the lenses can communicate directly with the lens mount due to direct electrical contacts, distortion and vignetting are minimized, and a variety of colour expressions are available when using Film Simulation modes. The lenses also offer precise focus control, achieved via three independent focus rings — focus, iris, and zoom — and a macro mode just adds to what are already an extremely versatile lenses.
