New Zealand Fitness - - IN THIS ISSUE - Kris Miller

It is with pleasure that I nominate Kris Miller for his professionalism and understanding. Kris is a strength and conditioning coach at Lincoln University near Christchurch.

I have been training with Kris setting programmes and guiding me through them since he started Red Shirt Personal Trainers, until his present position as strength and conditioning coach.

Giving up the gym for a period of time, because I felt that it was not doing anything for me, has not helped. But in December last year I found enough courage to accept there was a problem, so sought professional help from my doctor, diagnosing depression with all its challenges.

Having worked with Kris before, he helped me get enough courage to get back to the gym in January this year on a regular basis of two days a week with Kris and one by myself.

It has been with Kris’s help and guidance, as well as freely offering time and support dealing with personal problems associated with depression, that has given me the will and purpose to carry on.

With Kris setting programmes and challenges for the year ahead, supervising and giving a great deal of encouragement, as well as being a good mentor, I have set the following challenges a 5km run, 10km run and the Queenstown half-marathon.

Kris has been running with me, setting cross training sessions, running programmes, as well as discussing diet to achieve the challenges set. And after meeting some of his other clients – we all agree he is both professional in his training ethics and support.

Kris has supported me as he has other clients – he has been a counsellor that I am very grateful for.
