New Zealand LCV - - NEWS | ROUND-UP -

LAND ROVER’S HIGHLY-DISTINCTIVE Evoque SUV is tipped to grow in size when the Mark 2 version debuts in 2019.

Reports from Europe say a development car has been spotted and it appears to have a wider track and new rear chassis.

British magazine Autocar says it appears the Mark 2 will be built on a new, larger platform and will have more cabin space.

The car’s wheelbase is unchanged, but it looks to be using a completely redesigned trailing arm suspension set-up, the magazine said. The rear wheelarches are extended and rear ride height has been raised.

Like Toyota in New Zealand, Land Rover refuses to discuss future product.

Land Rover has remained tight-lipped on its replacement Evoque model, stating that it doesn’t comment on future models.

Autocar suggests the Mk2 Evoque will use Jaguar Land Rover’s latest four-cylinder petrol and diesel Ingenium engines.

Audi Q8 SUV will have coupe-like styling. Current model Land Rover Evoque – second generation, due in 2019 is tipped to be bigger.
