Integrated route-planning program launched
GPS TRACKING AND FLEET MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST, Teletrac Navman, has announced a technology integration with PTV Group’s transport planning and optimisation solution.
Available globally, the New Zealand company’s integration with PTV Group logistics software enhances Teletrac Navman Director’s end-to-end workflow solution for transport operators.
Navman says the partnership allows fleet managers to reduce dramatically the time and manpower needed to plan, optimise, and execute delivery routes.
The robust routing software can be integrated with Director in all countries where it’s sold.
The integration through Teletrac Navman’s open API offers carriers a single interface to optimise the list of stops drivers need to make in a given time period.
It takes into account vehicle dimensions, load capacity, road restrictions, hazardous materials and other configurations that may affect the route.
Dispatchers receive real-time updates, including vehicle location, speed and mileage, and can examine overall trip duration, handling, driver time and the stops completed, to measure against their goals, Navman says.
For drivers, the integration provides turn-by-turn directions, and eliminates the need for paper invoices and proof of delivery.
“We’re committed to serving the transportation industry by bringing greater efficiency to fleet management and delivering tremendous value to our customers,” says Teletrac Navman’s Asia Pacific vice president and managing director, Ian Daniel. “PTV Group logistics software will help our customers automate route planning and monitor execution of the route plan, further connecting every step in the transportation workflow.”
PTV Australia’s business development director, Joost Bekker, says PTV Group has more than 37 years’ experience in optimising mobility and transport.
“The logistics industry is under pressure due to increasing costs, combined with growing customer expectations. With integrated solutions of Teletrac Navman and PTV Group, we can help them increase efficiency, reduce costs and improve customer service.”
