Electric road transport on show in Manukau

New Zealand LCV - - NEWS | ROUND-UP -

A DEDICATED ELECTRIC VEHICLE SHOW AT AUCKLAND’S Vodafone Events Centre in Manukau will open Drive Electric Week this September.

The show, Evworldnz, runs on September 8 and 9, and will include education, advice and electric vehicle (EV) experiences to consumers, business owners, fleet and procurement managers, and key stakeholders in the New Zealand ecosystem.

Organisers say New Zealand has some excellent examples of pioneers who have committed to converting their fleet to EV.

The companies see the move as an intelligent business decision, at the same time recognising that sustainability is a responsibility the private sector must undertake.

Evworldnz includes an industry conference on Friday September 8 featuring local and international experts who will discuss the global EV outlook, procurement and financial issues, and maximising the EV opportunity for commercial fleets.

The conference will be complemented by case studies, interactive panels and round-table discussions.

The case studies include Foodstuffs’ trials of Nissan EV grocery delivery vans, and a case study of refuse contractor Waste Management’s fleet upgrading and updating. Green Cabs will outline lessons learned in pioneering an EV fleet. The show also includes a free-to-attend trade day expo for small and medium business owners, fleet managers and decision-makers in businesses to experience and evaluate EVS.

There will be seminars on opportunities for the EV fleet, the EV business case, stories from the converted and a question-and-answer session with Worksafe.

Grocery company Foodstuffs has been using electric-powered Nissan vans like this E-NV200 as delivery vehicles.
