Mit­subishi NZ ap­points new CEO

MIT­SUBISHI MO­TORS NEW Zealand (MMNZ) has ap­pointed cur­rent chief op­er­at­ing of­fi­cer War­ren Brown as CEO and pres­i­dent.

He re­places Tomoki Yana­gawa who re­turns to Tokyo to be­come gen­eral man­ager of Mit­subishi’s Amer­ica and Ocea­nia Di­vi­sion.

Brown has been with Mit­subishi NZ for 22 years. He started as mar­ket­ing co­or­di­na­tor in 1987, and pro­gressed to se­nior mar­ket­ing co­or­di­na­tor, busi­ness de­vel­op­ment man­ager, and na­tional fleet sales man­ager.

He then be­came na­tional sales man­ager, gen­eral man­ager of sales and mar­ket­ing, com­pany di­rec­tor and chief op­er­at­ing of­fi­cer.

Yana­gawa, who over­saw a con­tin­u­a­tion of sus­tained growth dur­ing his ten­ure, says he has “the ut­most con­fi­dence in my suc­ces­sor’s ca­pa­bil­ity and vi­sion in se­cur­ing the con­tin­ued suc­cess of Mit­subishi in New Zealand.

“War­ren has been in­stru­men­tal in help­ing to lead the com­pany through eight years of con­sec­u­tive growth and is backed by an ex­cep­tion­ally strong man­age­ment team...”
