Ex­perts have called for tighter con­trol of the prac­tice, with fresh guide­lines needed to en­sure per­sonal data is be­ing used ap­pro­pri­ately. The plea comes as re­searchers in­creas­ingly mine so­cial me­dia data for in­sights into how we be­have, feel and think.
