Quick and accurate way to grade timber
A FAST AND EASY WAY TO ACCURATELY
grade timber on the production line is now available to saw mills in New Zealand.
The all-new BoardMaster NOVA, made by FinScan of Finland, will scan a board from 10 different directions using new matrix cameras and latest software to provide a more accurate analysis of all board features and defects.
Installed on a dry mill line, the BoardMaster NOVA scans both faces of a board from three directions to give a comprehensive view of the timber so that it can be properly graded. It works well with a range of timbers, including Radiata Pine and Douglas-fir.
And because the software can easily be installed on a computer running Microsoft 7 or 8, it can be used at a large number of mill sites with existing systems. The information can either be displayed on large format screens or on portable tablets.
As well as grading lumber by form, FinScan can also provide an option that will additionally grade the strength of each piece of timber. Founded in 1988, FinScan is one of the world’s leading suppliers of automated sorting lines.
