Ev­ery now and then pho­tog­ra­phers have the plea­sure of rub­bing salt into the wound of surfers who miss such waves. It usu­ally starts with the surfer com­ing in mak­ing their way up the beach throw­ing quotes of ad­mis­sion such as “I can’t be­lieve I missed that thing! That was so sick..that was the wave of the day for sure… damn it!” Fol­lowed by the pho­tog­ra­phers re­ply of “Wait till you see the shot!”. Which is of­ten met with death stares. Well we won’t drop this par­tic­u­lar surfer in the crap, but hav­ing the most per­fect po­si­tion and then de­cid­ing to pull back think­ing it wasn’t gonna peel when it drained all the way too the beach, prob­a­bly wasn’t the smartest choice they’ve ever made.
