Move aside, boho. Sleek, elegant weddings are back

W hen it comes to modern weddings, there’s a fresh focus: classic and pretty. It’s a look that sits well in a largely neutral setting – think a white-washed homestead or elegant, light-filled ballroom. This is all about a renewed focus on the tried-and-true: a strong sense of polish, without the rigidity and conservative nature of conventional wedding styling. Think pretty, light-hearted and feminine, alongside all the elements of a timeless wedding.

Let your first step be to establish a complete colour palette – not just a single hue, which will only restrict you further down the line. By all means choose a hero colour – such as blush – but flank it with complementary tones of ivory, fuchsia and mulberry, bringing in alternatives of those shades to further enhance a feeling of variation.

Look to a sumptuous mix of texture, too: floral arrangements
