LOCAL WEDDING PLANNER

Before you fly, invest in a local wedding planner – often considered a must for overseas couples. They handle everything on the day, so your experience is plain sailing. Nelly Grange, certified wedding planner and celebrant, says, “As I specialise in small, personal ceremonies, I’ll develop and write a personalised ceremony for every couple that recognises their unique personalities, tells their story, and makes their vision come to life. I’ll also organise anything required outside of the ceremony, such as a hair stylist, a makeup artist and a photographer.” wedotahiti.com

POINTS TO REMEMBER

A ceremony must take place before the mayor at the city hall to be deemed legal. Couples can then have a celebratory ceremony wherever they exchange vows. Often, the legal ceremony can be done at home.

WEATHER FORECASTS

Though balmy year round, Tahiti has two distinguishable seasons: dry and rainy. The dry season is from March to November; the rainy from December to February. Be mindful that it’s a tropical climate, so the rain is similar to a hot shower and rarely lasts!

ACTIVITIES

Snorkel the clear, blue seas.

Feed the sharks and manta rays. Sail in a catamaran. Charter a seaplane. Hike Mount Aorai. Visit a pineapple plantation.

Experience the local cuisine.

With clear white beaches, marine life and hiking trails in abundance, Tahiti has every couple covered.
