2. Break out of the rut

-

It’s very easy to feel as though you’re stuck when you keep doing the same things day in, day out.

“Aside from becoming bored, being in a rut can make you more prone to depression and negative thinking, which only makes it more difficult to get started the next time you want to do something new,” explains Clare.

Many of us keep doing the same things over and over, hoping that someday our situation will change, but that’s unlikely – unless we shake things up ourselves.

“While it can be difficult at first, it pays to get out of your comfort zone and embrace change,” says Clare. “When you try new things, you’ll start seeing yourself in a different light and discover you have different capabilities.”

You may even find it easier than ever to make new friends now that you have something more to offer.

“We all want to be surrounded by people who inspire us,” says Clare. “Getting out of your comfort zone expands your mind, which gives you lots of interesting things to discuss when you first meet someone.”
