(for hands or face)
This is an easy, if a little basic, face cream which I found in my 1909 Economic-Technical Cookery book.
Combine equal quantities of mutton fat and glycerine, add a little perfume and mix in a pot over a gentle heat until warm. Wash your hands and face well with hot water, then thoroughly rub in the cream before going to bed.
NB: Lard or any fat taken off meat can be used instead of mutton fat. Glycerine is available at the chemist and instead of perfume, use an essential oil.
