Her role in the smash hit series Big Little Lies has allowed her to speak out on important issues, including domestic violence. Now Nicole Kidman (50) is sharing her experience with miscarriage.
The Australian actress suffered an ectopic pregnancy in 1990 when she was 23, then a miscarriage in 2001 when she was married to Tom Cruise. “There’s a huge, aching yearning,” she tells. “And the loss! The loss of a miscarriage is not talked about enough. That’s a massive grief to women.”
However, Nicole was very determined to become a mum, adopting two children with Tom, Isabella (25) and Connor (23). After divorcing the Top Gun star in 2011, she married Keith Urban (50) in 2006. The couple have two daughters, Sunday Rose (9) and Faith Margaret (7), and Nicole has said, given that her grandmother gave birth at the age of 49, she and Keith “would love to have more babies”!
