Kathy Bates’ shock weight loss
American Horror Story star Kathy Bates is almost unrecognisable after shedding an incredible 30 kilograms.
The 70-year-old Oscar winner opened up to US Weekly magazine about her weight loss and feeling like a “completely different” person.
“My niece told me this little secret – I guess it’s no secret, it’s a biological thing – that at some point when you’re eating, you have this involuntary sigh, and that’s really your brain and stomach communicating that you’ve had enough. The trick is to pay attention to that!”
Kathy has had her share of health scares in the past, battling ovarian cancer in 2003 and then having a double mastectomy to treat breast cancer in 2012, but says she feels better than ever.
“I have never been in such good health... I just wish I had done it years ago.”
The actress also pointed out that her transformation didn’t happen overnight, though. “It took a few years,” she admitted, “I would say that you have to be really patient… I don’t like the word ‘willpower’, but I like the word determination.”
