The Gore and Districts Memorial RSA will celebrate its 100th birthday on Saturday with a dawn service at the Gore cenotaph at 8am, followed by breakfast at the clubrooms. Following a formal dinner on Saturday night, an open day, with displays and activities including a mock battle, will be held on Sunday.

Meet the Clutha-Southland candidates vying for a seat in the election this month at a meeting at the Heartland Hotel Croydon on Friday at 7.30. All are welcome and there will be questions from the floor.
A 16-year-old boy was charged with injuring with intent after an assault at the Gore skate part on Saturday. He will appear in the Gore Youth Court and his associate, a 13-year-old boy, has been referred to Youth Aid. Their victim, another 13-year-old boy, was taken to Gore Hospital as a precaution.
‘CANS FOR GOOD’ BACK
Wattie’s Cans for Good, the national can ‘collection, creation, education and donation’ campaign run by The Salvation Army in partnership with Wattie’s for New Zealand schools will be held in late October.
