The hit film Grease, starring John Travolta and Olivia NewtonJohn, will be on the big screen at a drive-in movie fundraiser for Garston School on November 25.
Organiser Helen Innes said the school is fundraising for a new heat pump for the school pool.
‘‘When we were approached by Firefly Cinemas... we grabbed the opportunity. After all, how often do you get to go to the movies in Athol and you don’t even have to get out of the comfort of your own car.’’
The film won’t be the only entertainment. ‘‘There will be Elbow Junction to jive to, a bar, spit roast pork burgers, American hotdogs, market stalls and a candy bar brimming with popcorn and ice creams, just to create the nostalgia of the old days.
‘‘We chose Grease as we feel it fits the drive-in-movie theme perfectly and we are hoping to see loads of those beautiful classic beasts being driven into the Athol Domain.’’ ❚ Tickets are $50 per vehicle for four or more people or $15 per person.’’
