Now in their eighth year, the an­nual NEXT Woman of the Year Awards, in as­so­ci­a­tion with El­iz­a­beth Ar­den, cel­e­brate ex­cep­tional New Zealand women who suc­ceed in all as­pects of their lives while mak­ing a re­mark­able con­tri­bu­tion in one of the fol­low­ing six fields:

ARTS & CUL­TURE

This prize goes to a woman with out­stand­ing cre­ative tal­ents who in­spires oth­ers or has de­vel­oped a project to en­rich their com­mu­nity. BUSI­NESS & IN­NO­VA­TION This award goes to a bold com­mer­cial thinker with tire­less en­tre­pre­neur­ial spirit and the drive to achieve eco­nomic suc­cess. HEALTH & SCI­ENCE The win­ner is an in­di­vid­ual who is breaking new ground in an area she is pas­sion­ate about, and who has used her in­tel­lect and vi­sion to dis­cover or im­ple­ment a new de­vel­op­ment that ben­e­fits us all.

SPORTS

This award goes to a sportswoman, coach or ad­min­is­tra­tor who has reached a no­table goal or mile­stone and whose achieve­ments in sport have in­spired oth­ers.

COM­MU­NITY

This cat­e­gory hon­ours a stead­fast in­di­vid­ual who has made a re­mark­able con­tri­bu­tion to a hu­man­i­tar­ian project.

ED­U­CA­TION

The win­ner of this cat­e­gory is a de­voted leader in the field of learn­ing. She is a woman who demon­strates new ways of think­ing and re­mains ded­i­cated to em­pow­er­ing oth­ers so that they can reach and ex­ceed their po­ten­tial.
