Start small

NEXT (New Zealand) - - Life Lessons -

It all began when we moved up to Matakana eight years ago. Back then there wasn’t really much online shopping in New Zealand. I had my daughter’s

birthday party, and I’d sourced some things from overseas, and people kept asking ‘Where did you get that?’ I put a dozen things on a website, thinking ‘Let’s just see what happens’. It was 12 the first week, then it was 24 the next, and then the next week it was 30. After three years, every cupboard, the whole hallway, the garage… everything was Green With Envy. It wasn’t efficient, so

I went out looking for a premises. There was an old fruit and veges shed near Matakana called Nic’s marketplace. I thought ‘Perfect. That’s a sign.’
