Apps to make your Christmas planning go smoothly
From work to home and everywhere in between, Deputy Editor Sarah Murray has found phone that can handle it all
PaPutting together our Christmas issue is always one of the most hectic times of the year. As deputy editor, there are a million and one things to do; there are women to interview, articles to write, shoots to oversee and our Instagram account to monitor. That’s why it’s so crucial to have the right technology to keep me going, and the Vodafone Smart N8 ticks all the boxes. We work in a fastpaced industry, so we need technology that will keep up. The Vodafone Smart N8 did just that with its easy-to-use touchscreen and accessible apps.
On an average day I’m not always at my desk, and can often be seen rushing around taking behind the scenes shots from our shoots. The 13MP camera was so good for this and made me feel like I was a bit of a professional photographer. I have to admit the 5MP selfie camera came in handy, too, and the higher resolution means your face isn’t grainy-looking like you get with most selfies. I was really impressed with the long-lasting battery, which meant I could confidently be on the go for hours without worrying about having to charge it. And the fingerprint sensor was a plus – as with any magazine, confidentiality is key, so I could rest easy knowing if I put my phone down, I was the only one able to access any top secret future plans we had.
Of course, once you’ve found the perfect phone, you need to find the right apps to help you navigate your life. I loved using apps like Substitutions (see opposite) when cooking and was in a bind about what to use instead of molasses – it’s maple syrup or honey FYI! And at the end of the day, my phone even lulled me to sleep with the soothing sounds of the Pzizz app (see opposite). Here are my top five…
