Gather your family close this year for a casual Christmas breakfast and present opening ceremony with foraged botanicals and soft candle light. “With generous oor cushions, an inviting sofa and lots of throws, you can create a comfortable and casual atmosphere,” says Stylist Federica Contardi from Città’s Newmarket store. “Arrange gifts under the coffee table so everyone has an item ready to unwrap with their glass of bubbly.” Choosing a neutral colour palette with shades of cream, oatmeal and white means your styling will last well beyond Christmas. Città’s Botanica oral linen napkins and foraged greenery help to add that special festive spark, while candles of different heights and sizes create a warm glow and real sense of magic. Contardi’s top tip for greenery is to choose lush leaves that will withstand a day without water and entwine these with Christmas garlands. “Keep botanicals low-level so they don’t restrict visibility or conversational ow,” she explains. “My personal rule is to never exceed a height of 25-30cm.”

TRY IT OUT AT HOME:

1. Mix and match ceramics and incorporate a few key pieces of dinnerware with metallic accents.

2. Linen napkins tied with Christmas decorations and name tags make the ideal place setting and are an extra gift to treasure.

3. After Christmas, ceramic tea lights and fairy lights can be re-homed all over the house, especially in bedrooms to enhance a relaxed atmosphere.
