This Bowel Can­cer Aware­ness Month, well-known Ki­wis in­clud­ing artists Shane Hansen and Flox, are en­cour­ag­ing peo­ple to find one thing they can live with­out and auc­tion it on TradeMe. New Zea­land has one of the high­est rates of bowel can­cer in the world. More than 3,000 Ki­wis are di­ag­nosed yearly and ap­prox­i­mately 1,200 lose their lives an­nu­ally. The auc­tion aims to raise aware­ness and fund more early symp­tom ed­u­ca­tion to in­crease our sur­vival rates. If caught early, 75 per cent of cases can be cured. Well-known artists and in­flu­encers are also sup­port­ing the cam­paign by of­fer­ing their own items for the pub­lic to bid on.
