ACT deputy leader, Beth Houl­brooke, an­nounced that she will not be stand­ing in the Rod­ney elec­torate, in­stead, she will fo­cus on cam­paign­ing for the party vote around the coun­try. ‘‘Over the next nine weeks, I will be busy pro­mot­ing ACT’s poli­cies,’’ Houl­brooke said. ‘‘My role as deputy leader is to con­tinue to pro­mote the party vote mes­sage and sup­port our forty can­di­dates across New Zealand. As cur­rent chair of the Rod­ney Lo­cal Board, I will con­tinue to pri­ori­tise my lo­cal du­ties sep­a­rate from my on­go­ing ACT cam­paign­ing,’’ she said.
