Political advertising misses bus
Auckland Transport is refusing to run an advertisement at bus shelters which criticises Health Minister Jonathan Coleman’s approach to mental health.
The ads include a photo of Coleman with comments like ‘‘77% of New Zealanders want an inquiry into our mental health services’’ before finishing with the sign-off ‘‘I’m not one of them Dr Jonathan Coleman, your MP’’.
AT said it was upholding bylaws on election signs, which specify where they can be.
‘‘The aim of the ads was not to be political.’’
