Auckland Council is currently completing its three-yearly revaluation of properties to determine rates for the 2018/19 year. Council valuers, along with Quotable Value and LandMass, assess properties through recent property sales and field inspections. For businesses and rural residents, they also use questionnaires. Valuers carry ID and do not need to enter homes for inspections. Revaluation notices are due in November. See aucklandcouncil.govt.nz for more.
