Vanessa Hudgens loves Takapuna?
An oversight has seen a Hollywood actress appear to be endorsing a controversial development in the heart of Takapuna.
High School Musical’s Vanessa Hudgens features at the forefront of an image from Panuku Development Auckland’s plans for the Anzac St Car Park.
Project development director Clive Fuhr admitted the use of the Hudgens’ photo was an a mistake, which Panuku was not aware of at the time. ‘‘Now this oversight has been picked up, Panuku is working with the company to get this image updated as soon as possible.’’
The photo of Hudgens was originally taken in 2010 when the actress was out shopping in Malibu, California.
However, Takapuna Action Group’s Ruth Jackson questioned whether anyone else’s photo had been used without their consent.
‘‘If I opened up that document and found my image in it I would be absolutely incandescent with rage,’’ Jackson said.
‘‘If you are using those people for a commercial product, then really you should have their permission, because you are implying that they are endorsing your products.’’
Hudgens is no stranger to New Zealand, having previously visited to be with her boyfriend Austin Butler who was filming American fantasy series The Shannara Chronicles.
Hudgens is featured front and centre in the Panuku image in the Unlock Takapuna Framework Plan - in Takapuna’s Potters Park.
