North Taranaki Midweek - - YOUR LOCAL NEWS -

What fabulous weekend weather we have had. The mountain looked so magnificent in the winter sun it almost me wish I could ski, but I hate heights.

Even though it is cold our readers seem to have plenty to do to keep themselves busy. On page four we have the lovely story of people who are knitting blankets for the more unfortunate members of our community. It warms the soul to hear of how generous people are.

Another indication of the activity level of our readers is the popularity of the What’s On pages. Every week I have to leave some submissions out because we just do not have the room. Unfortunately every week my job is made easier because people miss the deadline. You need to have them in to me by 5pm on Thursday or 10am Friday at the latest. This is because my deadline for getting the paper to the printers is 4pm on Monday. Some contributors get a bit cross if their submission does not appear in print. I try to be fair but remember community events will get preference over commercial activities.
