Ups and downs of life

THUMBS UP

TO: The offer of free loos at Hickford park from Bell Block Marist rugby league club – a noble gesture.

TO: The Bishop’s Action Foundation’s offer to work with the government to provide 56 affordable houses in Marfell. That’s a great act of Christianity.

TO: Uruti School’s pig hunt to raise funds. Good on you and don’t worry about the PC brigade.

THUMBS DOWN

TO: South African rugby referees and officials who made a few dodgy calls in the Hurricanes’ semifinal loss.

TO: And while we’re at it, just how did the Lions (the South African side) manage to top the competition without once playing a New Zealand team. An equally dodgy competition.

TO: The council saying no to the offer of free loos at Hickford Park from Bell Block Marist rugby league club. Is the council flush with funds? If so, what’s with the rate rise? Just say yes, thank you very much.
