Ups and downs of life

North Taranaki Midweek - - YOUR LOCAL NEWS - KATH BROWN OPINION

THUMBS UP

TO: Homecoming heroes. It’s great to have the All Blacks here for a week. Welcome home Beauden and Scott (no last name required).

TO: The NPDC, which organised a moving powhiri on Sunday night to welcome the All Blacks, and to the dignified response from the team, especially Nehe Milner-Skudder who answered in fluent te reo on their behalf.

TO: Coping well. It is great to see Taranaki Base Hospital is able to cope with huge numbers of ill people this winter. Well done to everyone in A& E and the wards.

THUMBS DOWN

TO: Doctor shortage. What has happened to all the GPs in Taranaki?

TO: Selfish drivers. I know I’ve said it before, but what makes some people think they can park in clearly marked car parks for the disabled?

TO: People who try to shout down those who disagree with them. I would hate to see NZ following the United States, where people are beaten up because someone else disagrees with them.
