Kitchen tour helps Hospice
It’s always fun to see other people’s kitchens.
Here’s a chance for you to share the pleasure of another woman’s kitchen.
On Sunday October 15, 10 private kitchens in New Plymouth and Oakura will be open for viewing in a fundraiser for Taranaki Hospice. Organised by Barbara Olsen-Henderson of the Bach on Breakwater Cafe´ & Restaurant, the kitchens chosen for Kitchen Tour for Hospice are diverse in their designs and inspirations. There’s modern rustic, French cottage, humble farmhouse, olde worlde, sleek modern and more. As well as having their tables set up for a small dinner party, the owners will have displays of the books that have influenced them in their choices – cookbooks and design books.
After 11 years of holding dinners as an annual fundraiser for Hospice, Olsen-Henderson decided to try something different.
‘‘I just thought it was time to have a change. I enjoy house tours myself and always take a girlfriend or two with me when I get the opportunity, so I thought this would appeal and raise lots of lovely money for Hospice. Everyone has been so enthusiastic and helpful and I’m feeling very excited.’’
After the Kitchen Tour, which runs from 10am-4pm on the day, there will be an evening function from 5-6.30pm.
Tickets to both events cost $35, but if you’d just like to go on the Kitchen Tour that ticket is $20. Kitchen Tour 10am-4pm ticket $20; Bubbles @ The Bach 5-6.30pm ticket $15. Tickets available @ Bach on Breakwater Cafe´ & Restaurant, Hospice Shop Westown, Hospice Shop Waiwhakaiho. Email Hospice Taranaki firstname.lastname@example.org
