The New Zealand Red Cross has service centres throughout the country and from these centres they deliver the national, regional and local branch programmes. Activities happening that need volunteers next month are Multi Ethnic Extravaganza Street Parade - dress up in Red Cross shirts and be part of the fun on March 3 then March 18 the Annual Duck Race and barbecue fundraiser where tickets are sold for 600 rubber ducks being released down the Huatoki Stream to Puke Ariki Landing, so there are heaps of volunteers needed to help with selling tickets, face painting, assisting with the BBQ or being part of the children’s human duck race support crew and then helping with the prize giving. The following week from March 26-28 there is a need for the Annual Street Appeal volunteers. Do one or more of these events appeal to you and do you have a few hours to offer?

An extraordinary number of volunteers (18 years and over) are required to help with some fantastic sporting events in New Plymouth.
The first is the ITU Triathlon World Cup on Sunday, March 25 with 65 volunteers needed, then Weetbix KidsTRYathlon on Wednesday March 28 with 150 volunteers needed and then on Sunday April 8 the Mitre 10 Rainbow Run where 60 volunteers are needed.
The volunteer roles will mostly centre around marshalling so it is not hard work and the hours can be arranged to suit the time that you have to share. We would love to have your names early so that Terry of Sport Taranaki can undertake briefings etc.
If volunteering for either Red Cross or Sport Taranaki appeals to you then please contacting Marie at the Volunteering New Plymouth on (06) 758 8986, text / phone cell 027 541 0577 or email email@example.com to take that next step, she is keen to hear from you.
