Minister should learn a little tact

- JOHN SARGEANT

accidents.

But then, after thinking it through, perhaps the idea in general does have merit, so let’s take it a step further.

How about a plate on the back of cars driven by people who fail to indicate at intersections saying ‘‘Slow Learner’’ or ‘‘Dumb Arse’’? Then maybe one for people who still don’t know what to do at roundabouts saying ‘‘Prat’’?

I’ve a special plate for Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern in regard to the extra petrol tax being proposed when she stressed ‘‘no new taxes’’ in the build-up for the election. It says ‘‘Liar’’.

Back to Genter as the

Associate Minister for Transport. One of the initiatives to be considered to reduce the road toll is to decrease the open road speed limit to 70kmh. This means the elderly drivers who currently potter along at 80kmh would now be dangerous so perhaps I’m just seeing why their E-Plates could be useful.

But the really special plate I have is for the man who purposefully drove the wrong way around a roundabout in Napier’s CBD last week, narrowly missing Mrs S and me so he could ram a car in front of around 50 tourists off a cruise liner and then drive away against the lights.

That plate would just say‘‘Idiot’’.
