North Waikato News - - YOUR PAPER, YOUR PLACE -

Let the race to Election Day 2016 begin.

Nominations have closed, and as Caitlin reports on page 1 today, we now know who will be seeking the North Waikato vote.

Incumbent Whangamarino Ward councillor, Jan Sedgwick, has been re-elected unopposed, so she can relax.

In contrast it’s going to be a busy month and a bit ahead for the other political hopefuls vying for the local vote to sit on the Waikato District Council, local health board, community boards and Waikato mayoralty.

We will do our bit to keep you in the loop of who is standing on what platforms, and why they reckon they deserve your vote.

Closer to Election Day, Saturday, October 8, well will run questionnaires that we have asked the candidates to complete.

This will go some way towards helping our North Waikato News readers make an informed decision for local body elections 2016.
