Ho, ho, ho! Santa is coming to the North Waikato - and we can’t wait.
As Caitlin reports on page 5, both Huntly and Ngaruawahia are preparing to welcome the big jolly man in red this weekend.
It’s Huntly’s turn on Saturday, when the whole town in invited to join in the festive party at the domain, from 10am to 3pm, with the parade at 1pm.
In between the floats, there’ll be live music and dancing, kapa haka, rides, stalls, games and more.
Ngaruawahia welcomes Santa on Sunday, for the town’s Christmas on Jesmond event. Although floats will not feature in Ngaruawahia, the centre will still bring along Santa and his sleigh.
Volunteers at the centre will also be making a three-metre tall Christmas tree, and a decoration station is open for the community on the day.
Held from 10am to 2pm, there will be stilt walkers, food and craft stalls, a merry-go-round, toddler play-land along with other activities.
