Knife-weilding robbers accosted a solo Huntly bar worker forcing her into a locked storeroom before fleeing in her car.

The woman’s vehicle was then found burnt out on the back roads of Huntly following Saturday night’s robbery at McGinty’s Turf bar.

About 9pm on Saturday two men wearing masks approached a staff member locking up the bar on Main St, CIB Detective Constable Julie Cowley said.

After threatening her and gaining entry, the offenders demanded she open the safe and took money from it.

The pair then nabbed the woman’s car keys, locked her in the storeroom, and fled in her silver 2002 Toyota Allion saloon travelling north towards State Highway One.

The car was discovered burnt out on Ralph Rd about 8.30am the next day.

Cowley said police had obtained CCTV of the two men who are believed to have been involved in another robbery outside the Fruit King and Kbeez Fruit shops on Main Street 20 minutes beforehand.

Footage shows one man wearing a white mask, carrying a dark coloured bum bag.He is wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt with a dark coloured t-shirt over top of it, dark pants and dark shoes with white soles and a white printed emblem on the heel area.

He is of larger build. The second, smaller man was wearing a dark coloured mask, blue hooded sweatshirt, dark pants and similar shoes.
