Lions fans roar into town

Rugby fans and lo­cals alike were not dis­ap­pointed with the street en­ter­tain­ment turned on for the first game of the Bri­tish Lions Se­ries held in Whangarei. From kapa haka, danc­ing, drum bands, stilt walk­ers and cir­cus acts - there was some­thing for ev­ery­one.


Mandy Turner for Carter­ton joins Lions fans Mau­rice Arnold and Eric Dou­glas both from Eng­land.

The Hatea Kapa Haka per­form­ers were pop­u­lar with the crowd.

Eve­lyn Arevalo, Lil­lie Tai and Chole Mc Coy were a colour­ful sight.

Pubs were kept busy with the in­flux of vis­i­tors.
