Emma’s at Oxford has just launched an ‘‘off-shoot’’ from it’s book store into the world of womens fashion with Emma’s Wardrobe.

Owner Emma Gillard said it was never something she had planned on; ’’it just kind of evolved.’’

‘‘We started with gloves, scarves and ponchos and they were really popular. We had a lovely sales rep who suggested other styles our clients might like so we gave it a go.’’

Gillard said the response has been really positive.

‘‘We have some beautiful fabrics. Linens, cotton and merino styles which have been very popular and brands such as Evas Sunday.

Gillard said a lot of the styles she chose had been with particular customers in mind. ’’You do get to know your customers well after 10 years in business and I knew some of these clothes would be loved by some customers.’’

Gillard said women in Oxford are looking for fashion that is comfortable and stylish.

‘‘They want something which can be worn rurally but works great in town, something warm that they can layer and is also stylish.’’

Gillard said the huge extra space in her shop as a result of the extension last year means the fashion line has it’s own designated area in the store. of our
