CANTERBURY COUNTRY RELEGATED
Canterbury Country lost their place in the South Island premiership rugby competition following a 17-29 loss to Canterbury Maori at Mandeville on Saturday. Country took a 3-0 lead after a Brook Retallick penalty but Maori scored four tries to take a 28-3 lead. Country fought back with converted tries to Leonard Van der Velde and Hadrian Jackson but couldn’t avoid a fourth straight defeat in the competition. The loss will have Country play in the championship grade next year.
