YOUTH INVOLVEMENT

Northern Outlook - - YOUR LOCAL NEWS -

10-year-old Olive Roxburgh felt so strongly about the Hurunui District Council’s draft Coppard Reserve Management Plan that she decided to present her own submission to the council’s public services committee. Olive told the committee the reserve should remain as a natural area and there was an opportunity for a Leithfield history walk, which could begin at the reserve and include narrative boards. As a result of the submission the committee has now recommended that council amend the draft plan to include the provision for a narrative board.
