The family of a Christchurch woman killed when her car ended up in the ocean say she died ’’doing what she loved’’. Emergency services received reports a car had driven into the sea at Kairaki Beach about 9.45pm on Friday. The car was fully submerged when they arrived. A death notice on Monday confirmed it was Helen Margaret Wood, a registered nurse for 45 years, mother-of-two and grandmother-of-one. It is understood Wood was a shortterm resident of the Kairaki
Motor Camp, who went whitebait fishing on the weekends.
