NC White get first win in Coun­try div 1

North Can­ter­bury picked up their first win in the Can­ter­bury Coun­try Com­bined di­vi­sion 1 ten­nis com­pe­ti­tion on Satur­day.

North Can­ter­bury White had an 11-4 win over Rolle­ston Black at Wood­end. North Can­ter­bury Blue lost 4-9 Springston at Springston.

In round four NC White are away to West Mel­ton and NC Blue are at home to Kir­wee Black in Ka­iapoi.

In North Can­ter­bury Se­nior B, South­brook Gold re­main out in front af­ter an 8-0 win over Fern­side. Ka­iapoi moved into sec­ond with their own 8-0 win over Ran­giora, with South­brook Blue on the bye.

A 6-3 win over South­brook has Ash­ley out in front in Pres­i­dents 1, with Ka­iapoi right be­hind in sec­ond af­ter a 5-4 win over Cust.

Sefton are lead­ing Pres­i­dents 2 af­ter a 6-3 win over Ka­iapoi.

In North Can­ter­bury ju­nior ac­tion, Cust White took out the win against a com­bined Ka­iapoi/ Fern­side team on Satur­day at Ka­iapoi in the Ju­nior A Grade.

With not enough play­ers for an A grade team, Ka­iapoi joined forces with some Fern­side play­ers for a com­bined team in a first for both clubs.

Fern­side has a sec­ond A team, Cust have two, and Am­ber­ley one, mak­ing for a com­pet­i­tive grade this sea­son. There are also nine B grade teams, 13 in C grade, and on Thurs­days, seven teams con­test D grade.
