Northern Outlook - - LOCAL - JONATHAN LEASK

Tony Horne blazed 109 not out off 85 balls in Swannanoa’s nailbiting 2 run win over Ohoka in Canterbury Country Senior cricket at Swannanoa Domain on Saturday.

After electing to bat first, Rupert Bool scored an unbeaten 81 off 87 balls in a 198-run stand with Horne that took the hosts from 42/3 in the 14th over to the imposing target of 240/3 on the artificial wicket.

Jared Williams (44) and John Hamilton (63) got the Ohoka chase off to a fast start to be 173/3 when Hamilton was dismissed in the 30th over.

Needing a run-a-ball in the final 10 overs, the runs kept coming but so too did regular wickets leaving Ohoka at 231/9 with seven balls left in the innings. Swannanoa were able to restrict the visitors to seven runs, with Ohoka needing three to win off the last ball and only able to pick up a single.

Diamond Harbour-Kaituna (DHK) had a 33-run win over Scargill at Southbrook to remain unbeaten at the top of the table.

Batting first, DHK made 184/9 and then dismissed Scargill for 151, who had been 130/2 at drinks before capitulating.
