Of the seven concept vehicles Jeep built for the 50th Annual Easter Jeep Safari in the US, the Jeep Trailcat is our favourite. Dubbed the ‘ultimate off-road machine’, it packs the 707bhp 6.2-litre Hemi Hellcat engine mated to a sixspeed manual, and to make the big V8 fit into the Wrangler the chassis has been stretched by 300mm. Other mods include the chopped windscreen, new steel bumpers, off-road tyres and front and rear Dana 60 axles and Fox shocks. Locally, the Jeep Wrangler Brute Ute has gone on sale, the Sport in at $114,990 and the Rubicon version at $124,990.
Ford has given the Fiesta ST more stonk, the ST200 badge a reference to its new output in metric horsepower. The regular ST’s 1.6 turbopetrol gets tweaked to 147kW and 290Nm, though the overboost function means available power is more like 158kW and 320Nm. Ford says the ST200 will hit 100 in 6.7sec, making it the quickest Fiesta yet.
