En­hanced ben­e­fits for new taxi app

A new, en­hanced smart­phone book­ing app re­cently launched by na­tion­wide taxi com­pany Blue Bub­ble, in part­ner­ship with billing spe­cial­ist Tax­iCharge, pro­vides im­proved ben­e­fits for both pas­sen­gers and driv­ers.

Blue Bub­ble chief ex­ec­u­tive Bob Wilkin­son, says the new app is sim­ple to use with a four-click process. The app al­ready has about 8000 reg­is­tered users.

Pas­sen­gers in a hurry no longer have to bear the frus­tra­tion of not know­ing when their taxi will ar­rive or whether it’s their taxi at the door. “You’re able to track your taxi on its way, know which taxi you have or­dered and the cab num­ber,” ex­plains Wilkin­son. “There’s no wait­ing around for a re­ceipt from the driver, it’s emailed to you.”

Most pas­sen­gers pre­fer to use the pre-au­tho­ri­sa­tion fa­cil­ity which adds to the sim­pli­fied book­ing process, he says. “The driv­ers have em­braced the app and the tech­nol­ogy. They also know when they’re get­ting paid through the use of the Tax­iCharge sys­tem or credit card.”

In keep­ing with the Blue Bub­ble com­mit­ment to cus­tomer ser­vice, pas­sen­gers are able to rate driv­ers, he adds. “Should we get a low rat­ing then we will cer­tainly be in­ves­ti­gat­ing that driver.”

The Blue Bub­ble com­pany in­cludes 16 taxi com­pa­nies around New Zealand and was es­tab­lished in 2010 to com­bine the coun­try’s lead­ing taxi com­pa­nies un­der one com­mon brand im­age. The com­pa­nies were se­lected for their key com­pe­ten­cies and ded­i­ca­tion to cus­tomer ser­vice.
